Review: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

City of Bones
by Cassandra Clare
Publication Date: March 27th, 2007

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end

Review
So, I know like everyone in the book blogging world has read this book but me.  I could never bring myself to read this book.  The synopsis was just so not me and honestly, the cover also deterred me.  But, my boyfriend recently started reading this series because of the movie that came out Wednesday, so I decided to give it a chance to.  And it was pretty good.

I really didn't get into the book until about half way through it.  The beginning I thought was sort of slow and I found myself skipping parts and having to go back and reread what I thought I had already read.  But from the half point of this book on was so fast paced and exhilarating that I couldn't stop reading!

I love Clary, she's snarky and so brave.  She's like one of the best main characters I've read about.  She changed so much throughout this book and I loved watching her change.  And I loved Jace and Clary together.  Jace and Clary just match perfectly.  I love Jace's personality all around.  There is like nothing I would change about him.  I really liked Simon too, buttttttttt I have to pick Jace!
